DESCRIPTION
Dear folks: These people are our Metropolitain Planning Organization, a non-profit arm of government that has access to tons of federal and state money. If you have any interest in making Pittsburgh a better city for cycling, this is a good meeting to start with and show your support for cycling. They have a good amount of power and may be able to make changes in this fine city. Here is their letter of description and invite: ----------------------------------- Dear Pedestrian / Bicycle Enthusiast; The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission will be hosting a meeting of the Pedestrian Bicycle Committee on Monday, September 26, 2005. This meeting will begin at 3:00 p.m. A draft agenda of that meeting is attached for your information. Following the formal meeting, and starting at approximately 4:30 p.m., SPC will host an Open House to solicit input from the general public on pedestrian and bicycle issues, needs and opportunities in the region. All interested parties are invited to participate in the formal meeting as well as the subsequent Open House. If your schedule does not permit attendance at the 3:00 meeting, please feel free to join us between 4:30 and 7:00 to share your ideas, concerns and enthusiasm. If you have any questions, or if you need detailed directions to the meeting location, please contact Sara Walfoort at (412) 391-5590, ext 339. Thank you. Sara Walfoort Transportation Planning Manager Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission 425 Sixth Avenue, Suite 2500 Pittsburgh, PA 15219
