text Can Congress Stop the Burning of the American Flag? Kenneth J. Theisen 2006-06-08 2:26 PM
Sometime between now and the 2006 elections in November, the U.S. Senate will debate one of the most pressing questions facing the American people. No, they will not debate the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and possible U.S. withdrawal. They will not take up the Bush regime’s preparations for war, possibly even nuclear war, against Iran. They will not seriously talk about global warming, the degradation of the environment, preparations for the coming hurricane season, or the Bush regime’s massive spying on the American people, or any other pressing issues. Instead they will debate whether or not to amend the constitution to allow Congress to ban the burning of the American flag. (text/plain)

text A GLOBAL CALL FOR NONVIOLENT RESISTANCE ACTIONS ON AUGUST 6-9 -- NOW MORE THAN EVER! Danny Malec 2006-06-07 4:38 PM
This year, as we prepare to commemorate the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (August 6 and 9), it is imperative that the global peace movement show the links between that genocide and the slaughter of innocent civilians carried out by the U.S. military in its "conventional" war in Haditha, Fallujah and throughout Iraq. text THERE IS NO "WAR ON TERROR" LARRY EVEREST 2006-06-06 4:08 PM
There is no "war on terror." The invasion and occupation of Iraq are not part of a "war on terror." Neither are the current threats and war preparations against Iran. The "war on terror" doesn't exist—no matter how many times the Bush administration cites it to justify its aggressions, no matter how often Republicans and Democrats debate how to best carry it out, and no matter how frequently it's referenced in the U.S. bourgeois media. text Why I Cannot Support The Troops In Iraq populist 2006-05-11 6:22 PM

They are coming by the millions from all over the world. Let them come here. Let them find that there are not enough jobs. text THE CHOMSKY/BLANKFORT POLEMIC - Interview Silvia Cattori 2006-04-16 11:44 AM
Tel-Aviv and Washington are linked in the Middle East. That's a fact. But the importance of this link in Washington's colonial politics is being debated in the anti-imperialist movement. For the US, Jewish, anti-Zionist journalist Jeffrey Blankfort, Israeli influence is central to US policy and the anti-war movement has failed because of its inability to understand the importance of this lobby. Having developed a radical approach to this question, going so far as to deny the energy factor in the war in Iraq, Mr. Blankfort nonetheless opens interesting paths on Zionist influence in the United States. We reproduce an interview he gave to journalist Silvia Cattori. (text/plain)

text Ruairí Ó Brádaigh - The Life and Politics of an Irish Revolutionary Paddy-bo 2006-04-14 9:56 PM
"In a very real sense, Ruairí Ó Bradáigh can . . . be said to be the last, or one of the last Irish Republicans. Studies of the Provisional movement to date have invariably focused more on the Northerners and the role of people like Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness. But an understanding of them is not possible without appreciating where they came from and from what tradition they have broken. Ruairí Ó Bradáigh is that tradition and that is why this account of his life and politics is so important." —from the foreword by Ed Moloney, author of A Secret History of the IRA (text/plain)
