audio Freeing the MOVE 9 in 2008: MP3 Audio BE47 2007-08-02 3:24 AM
MP3 audio of Ramona Africa's July 14 [Bastille Day!] talk in Harrisburg, PA. Ramona discussed the need for the MOVE 9 to receive parole in 2008 in Pennsylvania. And why they all need a new, fair trial. They have all served 29 years of their 30-100 year sentence. If not paroled in 2008, they may all serve another 70 years. Their sentencing judge has publicly admitted that he has no idea who shot the one bullet that they are all being held accountable for! (audio/mpeg + 6 comments)

video BASTILLE DAY in Harrisburg with Ramona Africa: Paroling the MOVE 9 in 2008 BE47 2007-07-16 11:25 AM
Ramona Africa spoke in Harrisburg on July 14, "Bastille Day." She gave a wonderful history of the MOVE organization and gave a clear description of why the eight surviving MOVE 9 prisoners must be released from Pennsylvania's prison system in 2008. And why they need to be granted a new, fair trial. They have all been in jail for 300 years for one bullet, the sentencing judge admits he has no idea who who fired it. Yet they are all serving his 30-100 years sentence. Many are certain the bullet was actually fired by police, a horrible instance of "friendly fire." This "bastille Day" talk by Ramona is one of the best talks I have ever heard her give [and she sets a pretty high standard!]. Full extended versions of this talk should be available soon on CD. But for now, if you missed her talk, stream this! Peace if you can help finance the MOVE 9 legal defense, please make checks out to "MOVE." the address is: MOVE P.O. Box 19709  Philadelphia, PA 19143 (video/quicktime + 2 comments)

Protest against Bush at St.Vincent College
People of good conscience, rally to protest Bush speaking at St. Vincent College. Shame on all thoes people who naively supported the invitation of Bush to deliver the commencement speech merely to brag that a "President" gave it. If, as many of you claimed that this event was "not about politics", then why invite a politician? In this time of national moral crisis you would have been better served by a poet. text A Month in the Life of Pittsburgh Organizing Group Pittsburgh Organizing Group 2007-04-28 6:02 PM
Pittsburgh Organizing Group (POG) is a radical group based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania working to affect systemic progressive change in society. We seek to understand and oppose the inter-connected forms of oppression while utilizing non-hierarchical, consensus-based organizing. As a fairly large and active group we often do an inadequate job at conveying to other groups and interested people what our work looks like. We thought an article detailing what's been happening in the past month might be of interest rather than a single report on one of our events. (text/html)
