Under rules of the Obama-care bill, however, Vermont will not be able to enact the legislation until 2017, but Vermont is seeking waivers to enact the bill in 2014. Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer is also asking for a waiver from the federal government to set-up single payer health care in Montana.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when it's morning again, they'll wash away
Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you. (text/html)

Philippines: Ignoring a constitutional ban against making “midnight” appointments in the last months of her presidency, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) went ahead and appointed her personal manicurist, Nitz Carpon, as director of a government housing agency, and her personal gardener, Armando Macapagal, as Deputy Director of the Luneta Park Administration. For good measure and insurance, she also appointed her former legal counsel, Associate Justice Renato Corona, as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Life in Christ is like traveling
michael
2012-01-14 10:59 PM
Life in Christ is like traveling on a metro link train, with a predetermined destination. You are not the driver, Jesus is, and God provided the route on this one time trip. He plotted everything, the date and the time of your travel and arrival. There will be stops and delays along the way, but remember this, at the bottom of a traffic light is always a green light. To devote yourself to the creation and enjoyment of beauty, then, can be a serious business—not always necessarily a means of escaping reality, but sometimes a means of holding on to the real when everything is flaking away into… rhetoric and plot. (text/html)

But the best part of the dream was that the President commanded down the interest on the public debt to zero, and with it this year alone, remained over two hundred and fifty billion to invest in development, infrastructure, health, education, security and everything else even paying more than five hundred billion of other charges of the same debt.

Their Priorities

2011-12-17 2:16 PM![]()
With election season upon us it's very easy to see the impact special interests have on our nation's politicians. Elected leaders in Washington make this fact especially obvious to see, though not purposefully. At this point, not only is it visible in the president, but after so many debates it is starting to become evident on the part of Republicans. Money and power guides not just who they are polite to, but also what promises they make and the flip flops they make while still campaigning even. One moment they may say something leading voters to believe they stand firmly against an issue, and later on they may soften their rhetoric on the issue or information emerges either contradicting the initial statement or placing what they said in a hypocritical light. The Anti-Fracking Pledge of Resistance has been released
Occupy WELL Street
2011-12-16 12:05 AM
Occupy Well Street is taking a stand against the social pressure, lawsuits and occasional death threats that pro-gas individuals and gas corporations have been directing at many of those resisting the spread of fracking operations across the Marcellus region for the past few years. We are fed up with feeling isolated and silenced, and are frustrated with the idea that many others in rural communities may be hesitating to speak out for fear of threats, social consequences and legal action. We believe this is not an issue centered around individuals who sign leases, but is a case of multinational corporations preying on rural areas in order to make as much money as possible. Our solution is a Pledge of Resistance, both a universal declaration of opposition against fracking and a resounding statement of solidarity with all others resisting the spread of this destructive industry.
