Communique from the Buenos Aires Support Network for Freddy, Marcelo, and Juan
Support Network, Buenos Aires
2011-09-19 2:05 PM
We never forget our imprisoned comrades. We don’t mystify our respect for them but neither are we indifferent to their everyday experience. Solidarity is not, as has been demonstrated on several occasions, just a beautiful word or a slogan, but a practice inseparable from our struggle. This can be expressed in many diverse ways, and there are moments when an idea takes shape with forcefulness and continuity. Given the delicate situation (in court and in prison) that faces our comrades Juan Aliste Vega, Marcelo Villarroel Sepúlveda, and Freddy Fuentevilla Saa, who are currently held captive in prisons of the Chilean state, several individuals from Buenos Aires have decided to form a new support network in order to provide updates and disseminate information about their situation, as well as hopefully assisting in their return to the streets. Bucky Larson As Fairytale: An Alternative Movie Critique
Jeffery James
2011-09-18 8:47 PM
cky Larson: Born To Be A Star is, actually at times, a funny movie—although it is lewd, crude and cruel. Unlike most of today’s pornography it does have a storyline, some character development, and it is, at least to some extent, a sophisticated movie, even if it is awkwardly presuming about social acceptance. The acting is surprisingly good—especially Nick Swardson’s Bucky, the buck-toothed pornstar-want-to-be, with his fate of “dinky” penis but equally winsome, that is handsome, personality. But this movie is not about an individual so much as it is about the porn industry and its influence on sexual manhood. It is not a particularly good movie and brings to light so social issues worthy of consideration—topics of this essay. (text/plain)

The idea is to claim loud and clear that it is not only the duty of each individual to stop supporting the murderous exploitation required by the consumption of animal flesh and "by-products", but that it is also, therefore, the duty of societies as a whole to declare themselves. (image/jpeg)

Stand for Socialism against Modern Revisionism
Armando Liwanag
2011-09-14 1:04 PM![]()
Revisionism is the systematic revision of and deviation from
Marxism, the basic revolutionary principles of the proletariat
laid down by Marx and Engels and further developed by the series
of thinkers and leaders in socialist revolution and construction.
The revisionists call themselves Marxists, even claim to make an
updated and creative application of Marxism but they do so
essentially to sugarcoat the bourgeois antiproletarian and
anti-Marxist ideas that they propagate.

There are many reasons for security within the world we live. For those reasons it is prudent to maintain alertness in the appropriate areas. We need people on the ground where there is need of the presence of law enforcement or security. We need the ability to observe appropriately places we have reason to believe are at risk of becoming targets of attack or places crimes in general could be committed. Any credible government needs the ability to make people aware of impending threats when necessary. Any stable civilization needs the ability to reasonably protect itself and keep itself orderly and free from crime. (image/jpeg)

Imperialist War, Mass Murder, and Torture, But Did September 11th Change “Everything”?

"Americans watched in horror as the World Trade Center collapsed. Yet it was a horror no different from what the U.S. government has done with it's bombing of civilian populations in Iraq, Yugoslavia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Korea. The U.S. bombings of just these countries, not to mention many other U.S. acts of war, murdered millions of civilians. Terror against civilians is never justified. Now the U.S. government is preparing to terror bomb Afghanistan…" -Liberation News, September 11, 2001 (image/jpeg + 1 comment)
