email being sent out to wb/imf staff and business employees in the area

#one interesting thing to us is how poorly the police seem to undestand what is happening during the protest. Bodes well- rock on, pog

Dear Friends,

Below is an email I received from a friend who wishes to remain nameless, so I deleted the header. Anyway, this is a email going around to World Bank and IMF employees as well as other institutions, tenants
around town.

Sincerely,

Adam Eidinger

Please see below update provided by Burns/Pinkerton Security.

The Jones Lang LaSalle property teams are coordinating security measures. These have been published to our tenants via Bulletins. We will re-submit the appropriate information so you may distribute to your staff.

Please pay special attention to the note about the barricade around the WB/IMF Building. This will certainly restrict traffic to the West End area.

We will keep you posted as information is released by the DCMPD.

Please do not hesitate to contact your on site Management Office should you have any questions.
Have a nice and safe weekend.

Subject: Update- World Bank/IMF meetings

Good Morning,

2nd District MPD provided the following information as of September 4, 2002 concerning upcoming World Bank/IMF meetings.

* Protesters numbers are estimated to be 30,000- 70,000
* Protest groups are using coded pager messages & cell phones in place of e-mail and web site traffic
* Beginning late Thursday night, 9/26 through Tuesday morning, 10/1 a metal fence barricade will be erected around the perimeter of the WB/IMF from H St
to G St and from 18th St to 21st St. Initially, the barricades will restrict pedestrians only and will expand to include vehicles as conditions require.
*On 9/27 protesters on bicycles are expected to disrupt morning rush hour, possibly on bridges.
*On 9/28 & 9/29, the security perimeter will be expanded. Tentatively, the perimeter would include 17th St/ I St/ New York Ave.
* Employees needing entry to the inner perimeter need to possess identification (drivers license) and a business ID showing the company name/address or a letter on company stationary.

We will keep you informed as more information is released.
