Pittsburgh Indymedia is meeting this Thursday- come help us smash corporate media biases!
As most of you know, we had a great weekend covering the convergence and helping those marginalized by the corporate media make their voices heard. City Paper mentions us in their article about the convergence and it was brought to our attention by Dennis Roddy of the Post-Gazette that we have a bit of a readership among the writers of that particular corporate newspaper. So we're considered at least a *semi-legitimate* news source ;)
But it DOESN'T STOP THERE!
If you're interested in helping democratize the media in Pittsburgh, come to our next meeting, tomorrow (Thursday) at 8:30pm at the Second Plate, Posvar Hall on the U. of Pittsburgh campus. If you're new to indymedia and haven't been to a meeting yet, come at 8:00 if you can and get oriented. We can discuss exactly why indymedia is important and what you can do to help.
If you can't make it but still want to get involved, you're encouraged to join the imc-pgh-discuss list, or get in direct contact with us(info@indypgh.org), a collective member would be happy to meet with you when you can to talk.
See you all soon!
