PRESCRIPTION DRUG BILLS DONT DO ENOUGH FOR SENIORS
RETIREES TELL SEN. RICK SANTORUM (R-PA):
DONT PRIVATIZE MEDICARE!

The Pennsylvania Alliance for Retired Americans opposes Sen. Rick Santorums (R-PA) goal to end Medicare as we know it and leave the health of Americas seniors in the hands of profiteering private insurers. Seniors from across the state are rallying against the senators attempts to protect the interests of private insurers and pharmaceutical companies by supporting the privatization of Medicare.

Sen. Santorum has said that he hopes the traditional fee-for-service Medicare program will be gone in the next twenty years. He was quoted in the Scranton Times as saying Its a very inefficient and costly way to provide insurance. Its not cost effective and it doesnt provide the best quality of care.

The senator also opposes the reimportation bill, which would allow seniors to buy their life-preserving medication at a reduced cost from Canada and Europe. In July, Sen. Santorum worked closely with the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers Association (PhRMA) to initiate a letter opposing the bill. PhRMA circulated the letter and helped get 53 senators to sign it.

Join the Pennsylvania Alliance for Retired Americans and blow the whistle on Sen. Santorum for his shameful record of supporting pharmaceutical companies and corporate interest at the expense of Americas seniors.
