PBORDC hosts a Play-In & Demonstration to encourage City Council to adopt a pro-civil liberties resolution.

What to do when the government starts toying with your freedoms?

Fight back...

PLAY HARD!

Play-In & Demonstration
Tuesday, March 16, 2004
5:00 PM
City-County Building portico

(414 Grant St., Downtown)

Join your fellow Pittsburghers at a play-in of the PATRIOT Act board game to help convince Pittsburgh City Council to pass a pro-civil liberties resolution. We want our leaders to promise not to devote municipal resources to enforcing specific sections of the USA PATRIOT Act that take away our civil liberties. Come to Downtown to show your support for the U.S. Constitution and stand up for your rights!

Several game boards will be set up in the building's portico. We encourage all comers to bring their own boards, their friends, pro-resolution signs, and join the fun! Several speakers will address participants as play is underway, including resolution sponsor Councilman Bill Peduto.

"The act is so freaking scary to some people that their minds just freeze up and they walk away. We wanted to use the game to break through that fear. It's so hard to think about government taking away our civil liberties, our right to privacy, our speech."
