This new website offers a rare look at what is actually happening to the regular citizens of one of the poorest neighborhoods in the world, Cite Soleil ["Sun City"], Haiti. An educator named Guy shares his day-to-day struggles as the UN peace-keepers take over schools; disrupt, end and displace people's lives; and, hopefully, repair the damage that has happened as they try to catch a number of wanted gangsters. More than anyone else, this affects the area's children. Guy is doing what he can to protect, nurture and educate them in the midst of this sheer horror. This is the second time, in less than a year, that UN forces have staged such a deadly offense here. Most of the deaths are of civilians. Hopefully, this is not the new stategy for United Nations "peace-keeping." The UN soldiers are making some attempts to repair the damage that has been done. Several schools were taken over by the UN and used as military outposts. Hopefully they will restore them [or improve them] before leaving the area. The already difficult situation has become much more difficult for the people here. Please take some time to see what is going on in these gentle, proud and beautiful Sun City citizens lives!

For regular updates and photos, along with recent history, check out Guy's postings. In some ways, you really get a sense of the world's "pulse." Human dignity and actively caring for vulnerable children truly shine here:

Jean has been forced out of his home in Cite Soleil [Sun City]. He very much misses his community. Although they are poor, he feels that the way people share things and treat each other is better than most anywhere else in the world. See his comments on the \"What Do You Think?\" section of the website/blog!
