Pittsburghers face jail time after People's Strike is interrupted by mass arrests
09/30/2002
PIttsburgh activists totaling about 100 headed for Washington DC late last week to take part in actions surrounding the meetings of the
World Bank and
IMF.
On Friday morning an autonomous intersection-blocking action by the Pittsburgh group turned into a street march that snaked through the city.
Mass arrests, considered by most to be unlawful, took place around 11 am at Pershing Park/Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue.
An IMC reporter who was arrested at the site tells his story
