Update on IMF/WB protests

This report is coming from a church basement, DC area. Thirty-five or so (possibly more) Pittsburgh activists have been arrested (including many with our own Indy Media affilliate). A few managed to escape the unconscionable police action at PA Ave and 15th.

While people have been beaten on the buses, there are no reports of injuries to Pgh folks, and rumor is they are being held at Blue Plains Police Academy. Many are planning on jail solidarity. Others may be able to obtain release upon showing of ID and paying $50 to the brutal DC Police Dept. I think there are at least three confirmed people who have not been detained, but may be as many as 6 or more others.

For those of you that want to help support your fellow activists, you can catch a ride to D.C. tomorrow, about 7am on the vans sponsored by the Thomas Merton Center. Bring bail money for others if possible.

Check the DC Indy Media site for updated information.

You can't jail the revolution!
