An update on events for student strike the day after bombing is escalated in Iraq.
OK folks, here's an update on student strike activities. Remember, this takes place ONE DAY AFTER President Bush decides to go ahead with escalating the bombing in Iraq. On the University of Pittsburgh campus.
Right now the schedule is:
POG direct action training: 10 am and 4 pm, Posvar Hall lobby, near the escalators.
Pittsburgh Indymedia presents War and the Mass Media: 11 am and 3 pm in the commons room of the Cathedral of Learning, on the first floor (look for us at one of the bigger tables)
Food Not Bombs workshop: 12 noon and 6 pm in the Posvar Hall lobby, near room 1P56.
Women and War Resistance (presented by the CMU Women's Center): 10 am and 2 pm, Cathedral of Learning commons room.
TBA: Creative Resistance, possible others.
Any questions, or if you want to present a workshop or teach-in, email arm58@pitt.edu

Wouldn't it make more sense to hold all the activities in the same area? You could do this in one common area like the Cathedral of Learning in essence occupying it for educational activities in protest of the war. This would also have the advantage of making it easier for people to coverge and would provide a critical mass of people that would make it hard for the administration to curtail your plans. Just a thought.

it's totally up to the groups where they meet and all, but i'll definitely mention this- the thing is, i'm not sure that one place on campus has what all the groups need. ie, cathedral commons might not be a good place for the direct action training, but the teach-ins would be easier there . . .
it definitely is a valid point though, and ill bring it up to the workshop organizers. :)
