Pro-Lifers Against the War?

ProLife pressence at March 30th Anti-War Rally?

I'm not sure if there are any other prolifers that read this site but I thought it was worth a shot. I would like to at the March 30th rally possibly make a prescence of prolifers against the war for the purpose of 1) confusing those on the sidelines that think anti-war activists are all immoral, 2) showing the public that the concept of being pro-life doesn't stop merely after birth as the Bush administration and many other conservative fundamentalists believe. If anyone would be interested in becoming involved with this please get in touch.

Are you implying that those who are pro-choice are immoral, or that those on "the sidelines" view pro-lifers as moral, and others as immoral? Do tell...

interesting

It would certainly be interesting to see "prolifers" not supporting this war, and anyone who is against a war ought to be welcome to protest...it seems to me Brian was trying to make the point that people who claim to be prolife should not stop feeling that way towards actual children and adults, and might be able to sway some of their counterparts who feel iffy about this war...in case you hadn't noticed, the mass media has been doing very well at casting "liberals" in general as the bad guys, so maybe some of the misinformed out there would change their perceptions and think it's ok to say no to this war if they saw other more conservative types also speaking out. Now's not the time to quibble over prochoice and prolife when there's some very serious ANTI-life stuff about to be perpetrated by our own government...

thats exactly what I was implying

What Suzy just said is exactly what I was getting at. I didn't say that all those who are prochoice are immoral, I'm prochoice myself, I'm just all prolife because the two are completely oppisites. It's completely right to support a womens right to choose and also at the same time support a childs right to be born. What I was saying is that you have many conservatives on the sidelines watching us and just seeing masked anarchists and thinking that this is all about being anarchists, communists, leftists, liberals, or whatever. Who many of these people consider to be "immoral", I'm not saying that I do, I'm simply saying that because of many of my religious beliefs I often encounter these people. I think that showing a prolife side at the marches would call out to these people and show them that live should be protected from contraception untill natural death. It needs to be exposed by the left and all prolifers that Bush is not prolife, he is simply antichoice and antiabortion. He has no concern for life beyond pregnancy. What is the point of preserving the right for a child to be born if he's merely going to be born and then sent off to die 18 years later? This is the message I want to convey to the conservatives on the sidelines. Not trying to call anyone immoral, just saying what the other side thinks.

The author of the last post wrote:
"show them that live should be protected from contraception untill natural death."

I believe they meant: show them that life should be protected from conception until natural death.

I thought the way it was stated originally was interesting, highlighting both the mother's right and the right for all to live.

One Pro-life resignation
by Link Monday, Mar. 17, 2003 at 2:42 PM

The main indymedia page is carrying a story here: http://www.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=243903&group=webcast that links to Jack Walters's Resignation letter. Jack Walters was the Boone county Republican Chairman. In his letter he references his pro-life views and asserts that he cannot support this war.

thanks for correcting that

Thanks alot for correcting that Dawn. I was in a rush when I was typing it earlier and didn't proofread what all I wrote. When I read it the second time I made a lot of mistakes, but I guess the general message got through. Thats awesome about the republican chairman. I've emailed Rock For Life to see about gaining support at the next rally through them. This could possibly mean members from the various chapters in PA and Ohio making a showing. I've also contacted numerous churches(mostly united methodist) about members of there congregations coming out to march with is, and for those who can't(if you've ever been to a united methodist service you probably noticed that the majority are old, but damned if they aren't all peace loving) to keep us in their prayers that Sunday while we take to the streets. Thanks once again Dawn for pointing out that miswording, trying to type that out when you got two minutes before you've gotta leave is challenging.

Pro-life?
by Sam Monday, Mar. 17, 2003 at 7:04 PM

Seriously, I don't know how anyone who's sincerely pro-life (and not just parroting the right-wing line) could support this war.
