SVC Anti-War Students

Hey,
We definitely should protest this. Their amazing sense of education and defacing of property. Put chalk where it washes off. For those who don't go to SVC, they wrote some amazing quotes to show their intelligence such as: "Bomb Saddam" "Got War?" "Hippies suck ass" "Freedom is Just War" and other stupid frat boy sayings. Whoever posted this, come to the peace vigil tomorrow at 8pm above the shack and look for Jason. Oh and the pro-war rally they are planning on having is going to be at 2pm on Friday.
Wouldn't it be wonderful?

It would be great if we could get enough people to outnumber them.
I'll definitely be there.

the drive is 45 minutes to an hour.
outbound parkway east to pa turnpike east.
take exit 7 (irwin) to route 30 east.
route 30 east to latrobe.
you'll be on rte 30 for about 20 minutes. go past greengate mall and westmoreland mall. when you see the latrobe airport to your right, you'll know youre there.
turn left at the at the airport intersection. make another left at the next traffic light. then make the next possible left. that road will take you to st vincent.
hope that helped.

while on tour with Tap i've made many drives to the latrobe area. it's a weird place-tons and tons of sprawl. there is so many new 'really nice super big sprawl plans' out there. you know the ones-- wanna-be upper class projects. lots of conservatives.
What is SVC administration's position?

Where does SVC's administration stand on the issue of this demonstration taking place on their campus? Being so associated with the Catholic church, do they agree with the Pope's anti-war statements?
I barely ever see my hometown Latrobe mentioned in the news. I regret that it has to be over something as ridiculous as this.

The administration is basically turning a blind eye on the issues. They are letting the pro and anti war people spread their messages. Most of the school is Republican and they don't want to lose that image. So if you can, join us tonight for peace.
St. Vincent Position

I've been communicating with a priest at St. Vincent who's very much opposed to the war. He organized a vigil in Greensburg recently.
But Latrobe is pretty backward and reactionary (take it from someone who grew up five minutes away). The student body reflects this disposition.
