March 19th protest in Oklahoma city

March 19th Oklahoma City Tom Brokeout Skimask news rpeorting
At 5:30, 21 people gathered at the corner of the Penn Square Mall in a quickly organized protest against war with Iraq. The protest was a direct response to Bushs 48hour ultimatum. At first we stood in heavy rain but the clouds parted and sun beamed right onto our spot.
After about 40 minutes of holding signs and passing leaflets to motorists, explaining our position against the war, 6 police cars appeared and demanded we disperse. One protester who argued his constitutional right to assemble was searched cuffed and shoved into the back of a pig mobile. He was not charged with any crime when they detained him.
Police threatened all of us with arrest but mall management did not want to press charges. We agreed that we would leave if they let the prisoner go. The blue uniform gang agreed and let the prisoner go.
The OKC police were a real class act calling protestors motherfuckers, stupid, assholes, telling us to shut the fuck up etc. They called the prisoner kid rock(good one piggy) They also made up some information that we were blocking traffic and throwing things at cars.
Up the OKC punx! Fuck the OKC pigs!
Punx with this war is a heap of shit banner

I have been protesting the war with a group of people on the same corner as these young people (every Sat. from 12 to 1 pm) and have been doing it since October.
I am appalled at the actions of the OKC police.
The only difference is we are for the most part older folks and we do have a permit. However, the mall security has twice asked us to move, even though we were on the easement and had a permit; but we certainly were not treated as these kids were. I am outraged as a citizen of Okla. City. Joan Herndon
