Basic information on the status of Those arrested.
For those who are wondering what's going on with those who were arrested yesterday here are the facts that i gathered while at the police station.
1. All Juveniles were released around 11pm. The parents were contacted and they were allowed to go when they showed up. So if they were under 18 ...mom and dad... they're waiting for you to pick them up.
2. All adults still have to be arraigned However they are a City case and they go after the County cases. In other words they won't start being arraigned until about 9am in the morning. From what a few officers said there were any where between 100-120 arrested, so they'll only be able to bring about 7 at a time into court. This could go on for a VERY long time they were saying possibly into Saturday. They could only handle about 35 people a shift in regards to the paper work.
3. You WON'T be able to find out if a friend/lover one/etc is in there until they finished the paper work. Lucky for me one of the guys filing the paper work was nice enough to tell me whether or not Troy was in there.(He was and this is good because if he wasn't and hadn't called to tell me he was okay he was..a dead man..but he was in jail so. :-) )
4. More then like IF a bail is set it will be insanely cheap. Or they will be allowed to go based on their own recognizance (Or in faith that they'll return for the trial) They'll probably all be out by tomorrow or Saturday with any luck. Maybe they'll be nice and just leave this entire matter at a citation....
5. The police were being real sweethearts in general. (Except for this lil annoying brat behind the counter whose only answers to my questions were..."Tomorrow..tomorrow tomorrow").. Other then that two officers offered to find who i was looking for... and they told me what was going on to the best of their knowledge. They(THe police counter-Jockeys) were generally nicer to the people who didn't.."look"... like protestors (At least the lady behind the counter the officers were just all around nice)... (though i still ended up with more informations then one of the mothers).
6. There is a group outside the police station for support .. someone take them orange juice or hot chocolate in the morning.
7. i'm going down in the afternoon tomorrow so if anyone has anymore questions feel free to email me. Also the number to County Jail is 412-350-2000... There are directions to county in another one of the articles. Also there are Lawyers who are willing to handle the cases (thoough i'm not sure if that will be needed) but here's the info anyhow.
