An IMC reporter at the courthouse says arraignments are being stopped with no reason given.
This morning 9 people have been arraigned and released. An IMC reporter called in saying that arraignments are stopped until 2 or 3pm today, and no reason has been given. 10-15 people participating in jail solidarity remain outside the courthouse.
Word is that the activist arrested during the march through the Cathedral of Learning yesterday afternoon has been released on bail. No further details are known.
If you were arrested yesterday, please contact the Thomas Merton Center to discuss legal action.

Legal Action?!?! Please! You started the whole thing, and it is completely the protestors fault why they were arrested. Why don't you get off our damn streets in Pgh and do something more productive with your lives instead of causing trouble. It seems to me like you are more 'for violence' than 'for peace' with your ridiculous demonstration yesterday.

No matter who started the thing or how unproductive you think it is, Americans used to have a right to do this. The whole legal action thing is necessary because we need to stick up for the Constitutional rights of those folks that were arrested.
Somehow, though, I get the impression that there's no way you'd consider trying to see why this is all going on. You're not here to get accurate coverage of the peace effort. You're here to pick a fight and put other people down. Seems like a waste of time, to me. Perhaps you should "do something more productive".

We need to remind all heckerers that this is a newswire, not a forum. Mr. Joe, if you were here for news you would know that all but a handful of the 122 arrestees were walking on the sidewalk, trying to get home, and doing nothing illegal. I witnessed the arrests myself.
The disruption was caused mostly by the exaggerated media hype before the event, spread to discredit the protests, not the march itself.
Also, I need to remind you that nearly all of the protestors have full time jobs (that's why it was scheduled for 5:00) so by your standards we are "productive". In fact, it should be pointed out, since you are probably impressed by such shallow things as money, that many of us peaceniks are highly paid professionals. Me, I'm a state-licensed Professional Civil Engineer who makes about 65K a year, That's probably more money than you make, so you better listen to me!
Did the terrorists Win?

Do we still have a democracy? Are people being held without access to attorneys for political reasons?
It seems to me that we have lost our civil liberties. Why can't the system process these demonstrators better?
