New Court Hearing Date for the Pittsburgh 122.
Please spread the word. The hearing scheduled for this Friday, the 28th of March, for those arrested on the evening of March 20 has been postponed. The new hearing date is Friday the 11th of April at 8:30 AM. The court will not mail this info out so lets make sure everybody hears about this.

Do you know the specific location of the hearing? And are they doing one mass hearing for all arrestees? Nobody posted an update from Monday's legal info meeting, so those of us who weren't arrested don't necessarily know what's up.
Thanks!

I gave my papers to the lawyers so that they have copies so if anyone can flesh out this post with the exact addresses, that would be great . . .
My understanding is this: we are going to be tried as a group and the trial is SCHEDULED to take place downtown in the courthouse. I use emphasis because the lawyers tell us that the room is not big enough. When I was called by the Merton Center about the new date I was not told if the location had changed so I assume that right now it hasn't.
Juveniles are being mailed papers and none of them have gotten them yet. They will be dealt with seperately, but I think as a group (with each other).
Other things from the meeting: we are being advised to refrain from filing civil suits until after the criminal charges are dealt with . . .
There are three charges being leveled against us: failure to disperse, obstructing public passage, and disorderly conduct. Most of us have been charged with two of the three.
The Merton Center is forming a Legal Defense Committee. If you would like more information about that, or if you would like to be involved (you do not have to be an arrestee) please contact them . . .
One look around the room all but conclusively proved that the police WERE in fact targeting young protestors (this is, of course, an opinion) . . .
All things considered it was a friendly, productive meeting. The "Pittsburgh 122" is actively in touch with one another and I think already many friendships have been formed by the experience. I am hoping that this helps!

Bad Publicity

The results of the trial will be a reflection of the bad publicity that protestors are receiving. The magistrate might want to "teach us a lesson". Here is an article that talks about the bias of the media against proterstors:
