Timelords Against War Hope Guidelines Will End Violence and Negative Media Attention
In light of the recent debate regarding the proper conduct at peace events and The Thomas Merton Centers call for a discussion of violence at peace events, the Timelords Against War, a Gallifrey-based organization with members throughout all time and space, has issued a set of guidelines for attendees to future peace events. The guidelines are designed to both help avoid violence at Peace events, and to avoid the negative media attention that recent peace events have been subject to. The guidelines are as follows:
1. Leave your billy club and pistol at home. Many other peace rally participants find these items unsettling.
2. Do not fly over the peace event in a helicopter, unless you are taking a sick person to the hospital.
3. Many people find the so called Blue-Blocs dress habits upsetting. Avoid the wearing of blue dress uniforms with badges. Also leave the riot shield at home.
4. Do not drive by the rally in your white Ford Explorer while taking photographs or video. Many peace rally participants find this intimidating.
5. Do not ride your horse to the rally, particularly if your horse has been trained to disperse crowds.
6. If you need to keep you dog on a leash in order to keep it from attacking other peace event attendees, perhaps it would be better to leave your dog at home.
7. Do not use pepper spray or tear gas against other peace event attendees.
8. If the Blue Bloc shows signs of becoming violent, do not try to reason with them. They can be unpredictable and highly dangerous.
9. Dragging items such as dumpsters and newspaper boxes into the street is a good way to slow down the advance of the Blue-Bloc, thus helping to protect yourself and your fellow attendees.
10. Wearing clothing that makes it difficult to identify yourself, such as bandanas with plain black clothing, is a good way to avoid being singled out or harassed after the peace event.
