Sophomore art student Erica May screams in reaction to coverage of the war on Iraq. May's and other's art exploring the war was in the center of the Carnegie Mellon campus.

In a change of pace from the usual advertisements for the next big fraternity party, art students at Carnegie Mellon took "the fence" to bring a message about the war on Iraq to the general campus community. The fence in the middle of the CMU campus is regularly painted with different messages, and has been in the Guinness Book of World records as the world's most painted object.
May's installation, a box that she placed herself in and was slowly wallpapering with stories about the war, was created as a commentary on media coverage of the war, said Dino Misetic, sophomore Art student.
She planned to stay there until the entire box, created from a clear plastic, had been entirely painted over with the newspaper clippings. Periodically May took a break from the painting to let loose an eerie scream.
