Lets show Rick Santorum that he should be sorry. This Mayday (May 1, 2003) please come to Santorums Pittsburgh office at Station Square, Landmarks Bldg, Ste 250 at noon and join RESYST in asking him to step down from his leadership post. We urge you to wear the spilled blood (paint, dye, fake blood) of our dead queer sisters and brothers.
SHUT DOWN Santorum!
Lets show our senator how his constituents feel about his opinion on same-sex relations.
Speaking on a legal challenge to a Texas anti-sodomy law Senator Santorum recently said, If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery, you have the right to anything. In response to backlash Rick Santorum stated, "I do not need to give an apology based on what I said or what I'm saying now.
These remarks indicate exactly how interested Santorum is in representing his Pennsylvanian constituents. Santorum doesnt seem to understand separation of church and state. If he did, then why would he spout such hateful things based solely on his religious ideals when speaking about civil laws?
Queer and transgendered teens are three times more likely to commit suicide and comprise 30% of completed suicides. There are very obvious reasons for this and hate speech and intolerance is a prime example. Hate mongers kill many more queer people because people like Santorum have no apologies for their hate speech.

Queers Manifesto
We are the RIOTeous!, a renewal of activism and humanity. To us colour, creed, national origin, gender, orientation, sex, language, specie or hair colour mean nothing except a celebratory rule of diversity.
Let us grab-hold and utilise all that we have available. In a world of free information exchange, we can seed our ideas, notions and actions for whomever wish to be inspired.
The 21st Century is a beacon, a genesis for humanity. In numerology, the 21st Century adds up to 3, the number of leadership and inspiration. We have the opportunity at hand to RISE UP! We shall live together as families. Break down the notion that nuclear is normal and the ruling moralistic and capitalistic regimes are somehow the true and only way. We will remember that God is in our hearts and consciences and not in our governments.
All spirits on this earth joining and loving each other can free the truth of humanity and nature from the recession of time. Friendship will lead to inspiration, which can lead to action. What we see coming upon us should not be a fight, but a love. An aggressive and passionate love to take back what is ours and what we can, once again, cherish!
Queer once meant odd, and then gay. Embrace Queer as a bohemian lifestyle. A person is not Queer because of zir sexuality, but for a love that we have for each other and for nature, and a remittance of all that stands in the way of this.
An Amerindian prophecy is calling us and we only need to follow in its path: When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from many colours, classes, creeds, and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again.
They will be known as the warriors of the Rainbow.

i didnt think that santorum said anything necessarily hateful. i thought he said that, essentially: incest, homosexuality, polygamy, and adultery are morally equvilant. when, you yourselves seem to say that: incest, polygamy and adultery are morally equvilant. if he is being hateful to homosexuals, arent YOU being hateful to those who have incest, adultery and many sposes?
you find that the declaration of the immorality of homosexuality to have no basis in reality. can you tell me what the hell then is the basis for the immorality of incest, polygamy and adutlery?
youve shaken the basis of the governing system of morality by accepting homosexuality. yet for some reason you fail to recognize the victory you have in grasp: morality ITSELF has no basis in reality. you instead seem to be content with creating another regime of morality which accepts homosexuality. you fail to realize that your foundation is only as stable as the system you just destroyed. youve continued the process of questioning the ruling system of morality and it will not stop here. your morals make as much sense as the ruling ones: no sense at all.
so your upset because you have demonstrated the coming destruction of morality, it seems to me. i really dont understand what your problem here is. a big reason why people begin to hate homosexuals is because they dont agree with their behaviors because of some moral system which tells them that its 'wrong', and at the very least seperates this behavior from established norms. if you maintain the existence of a 'right' and a 'wrong' then your always going to have those who are marginalized and looked down upon for being 'morally deviant'. instead of trying to shift the foundation of morality a little, why not chuck the whole goddamn thing? morality seems to cause much hate, division, obligation, guilt, shame; many of those very things which seem to drive homosexuals (and many other folks) to depression and suicide.
my response to santorum: yeah youre right, but so what? why on earth are any of those behaviors inherently 'wrong'. how can ANYTHING be inherently wrong?
i encourage people to question everything. dont buy into these new dogmas of the moral liberal-leftists. these are as much trash as those dogmas they themselves destroyed.
you're right

My name,
You're right and that's exactly what I am saying. I am so angered at his statement because he is pushing his moral judgements into the realm of our government.
The reason I am so angered by his statement of comparison is because I'm looking at it within his own moral consciousness. From inside Santorum's head he is lumping a group of people* (queer people) with acts (adultery, bigamy, polygamy, incest). Furthermore his ideals harm the political process of our "democracy".
Furthermore, while I am all for smashing moral borders and the structure of sexual expression (as originally intended by queer radicalism), I have to be sensible and realize that most people live within the realm and therefore have to further the struggle within. If people weren't so affected by this moral system then gay kids wouldn't commit suicide. They'd just say fuck that, I won't live within these rules.
We can work on both struggles simultaneously. Many gay people aren't fighting for the more abstract causes and don't even realize the difference between gay and queer. I don't want to be an exclusive, nor do I want to lobby congress to get my rights. I will fight my own battles and try and help out gay people as well. I could go on and on but my brain and time isn't permitting it at this moment. Thanks for the point.
*reference: John Demilio's Capitalism and Gay Identity (not that santorum ever read it, but it outlines the paradigm of selling homosexuality as an essentialist group rather than a social construct of the industrialized world)
It's not just Homosexualiy.

A look at the Full interview shows that he isn't just blasting homosexuality by likening it to incest, "man on child" (pedophelia) and other crimes. In it he asserts that we simply *do not* have the right to privacy in our own homes. He says:
SANTORUM: I've been very clear about that. The right to privacy is a right that was created in a law that set forth a (ban on) rights to limit individual passions. And I don't agree with that. So I would make the argument that with President, or Senator or Congressman or whoever Santorum, I would put it back to where it is, the democratic process. If New York doesn't want sodomy laws, if the people of New York want abortion, fine. I mean, I wouldn't agree with it, but that's their right. But I don't agree with the Supreme Court coming in.
This isn't just about homosexuality this is about our freedoms and our right to be save from oppressive governmental controls. Santorum thinks that such controls are ok. Even people who hate homosexuality should still be terrified by this. Lest we forget, this is the #3 man in the senate right now.
I think that that is the message that we should be sending. We should be pointing out to people that this isn;t just about one group, this man has proposed that we roll back our freedoms and submit private legal acts to public scrutiny and legal censure.
Lest we forgest Him.

<P>Lest we forget our other Senator in these times, here's what Arlen Specter had to say:
<blockquote>"I have known Rick Santorum for the better part of two decades, and I can say with certainty he is not a bigot."</blockquote>
<blockquote>Asked in a New York Times article if this episode might cause problems for Santorum in future elections, Specter responded, "It depends on how it plays out. Washington is a town filled with cannibals. <strong>The cannibals devoured Trent Lott without cause.</strong> If the cannibals are after you, you are in deep trouble. It depends on whether the cannibals are hungry. My guess is that it will blow over." </blockquote>

Santorum should be ashamed of what he said concerning homosexuality. It is becasue of people like him that there is so much hate in the world. He should be kicked out of office for saying what he did. SCREW YOU SANTORUM, YOU SCUMBAG!
