PAPPY Fundraising Dinner a Succes
by ian Thursday, Apr. 24, 2003 at 10:19 PM

For Pittsburgh Indymedia : On April 23 the Pittsburgh Association of Peacemakers and Proactive Youth held a fundraising dinner to support its first annual youth activist conference.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2003 the Pittsburgh Association of Peacemakers and Proactive Youth (PAPPY) held a fundraising dinner at St. Bedes church in Point Breeze. Over forty people attended, listening to Tim Vining of the TMC and Zach Harris of PAPPY speak, eating delicious homemade food, and just generally having a good time. Although the total amount of money raised has yet to be determined, including the proceeds from a raffle, donations, and plate fees, early estimates place the number around $900. This was an amazing event for PAPPY, and the money is being used to pay for our first annual Youth Conference. The conference, which is May 23-25, will host a variety of workshops, film screenings, and networking of youth activists from around the region.
I would just like to say thank you for everyone that came, and all of you that have been so generous with your time and effort in supporting the work of PAPPY.

Pictures will follow when i get a minute.

Once again, PAPPY makes us all proud to be a part of this movement for justice and peace. The entire community is encouraged to do what we can to provide PAPPY with all the resources they need to continue playing such a vital leadership role in the peace movement and beyond. Let's keep PAPPY HAPPY!
