queer as fuck 2003 PITTSBURGH

queerasfuck 2003 is a weekend of radical events surrounding Pridefest.

In Greenwich Village in 1969, the trannies, faggots, and dykes had had enough of hiding in bars and being arrested for deviancy. In that steamy summer police who raided the Stonewall Inn were met by resistance for the first time. The queers stood their ground and flooded the streets, overturning cop cars and setting fire to their oppression. This was the birth of a new era for civil liberties, love, and revolution.

Today, commercialism, AIDS, and apathy have attacked the gay community stronger than any police unit could. We have turned to political platforms, ballots, and target marketing to fulfill our movement, which has become a homogenous adaptation of conservative heterosexual society. Queers once battled against oppressions such as homophobia, violence, and imprisonment, but now gays create institutions of classism, racism, and sexism. We have been consumed by alcohol and drug companies and sell our souls to the highest fashion guru. Gay "pride" has simply become another emotion for corporations and governments to bottle up and sell us in designer special-edition Prada day bags.

It is time to join the progressive movement and fight for freedom for all people. This Pridefest, let's show Pittsburgh that we're queer as fuck, not "queer as folk". Although the theme this year is "Peace through Pride", the festival won't be embracing our struggles against imperialism, the wars, racism, classism, or the many other objects of our oppression. For the first time in Pittsburgh, Gay Shame will converge. The Stonewall revolutionaries would be proud.

queerasfuck 2003 is a weekend of radical events surrounding Pridefest. The main march will meet at Westminster Place on June 21, 2003 at 10am at Westminster Place in Shadyside. See www.thomasmertoncenter.org/RESYST or call 412-363-1877 for detailed schedule information.

RESYST will host a workshop on Wednesday, June 18 at the Gay and Lesbian Community Center called ?No Pride in War?. Then on Friday, June 20 there is a show at Project 1877 (4805 Penn Ave) featuring Crucial Unit and more TBAs. After the main march we will converge in Shadyside at the 5800 block of Ellsworth around noon and continue with street performances until 6pm. We will meet at 8pm and begin our Guerilla gay bar invasion. On Sunday, June 22 we will begin the day at 2pm with video and discussion series on ?Queer Identity? and ?Queer Liberation?. We will end queer as fuck with a brillian show featuring Gravy Train from San Francisco (www.rapbitches.com), Hott Beat from D.C., plus a local band.

We have housing and some food available for out-of-town visitors. Please contact us for more information at www.thomasmertoncenter.org/RESYST, email pinkbloc@1877.org, or call 412-363-1877.

i'm having trouble wrapping my mind around that last post . . .

He doesn't have a problem with homosexuals, but gay pride makes no sense to him. I have to agree. Being proud of something you were born with is silly, as you should only be proud of things you've accomplished. Gay pride is just are moronic as white pride or straight pride (or even near-sightedness pride or right-handed pride)

This isn't complex, folks
by Sasha Friday, Jun. 20, 2003 at 6:50 PM

1. There is a long history of discrimination, repression and violence against queer people. The same can not be said of right-handed people, straight people, near-sighted people or white people.
Therefore,
2. It IS a great personal accomplishment to be out and proud.

The troll's post was entitled "Eat shit you morons". He seems to have a problem with someone. As far as not being proud of your birth, I agree, especially when it comes to the patriotic, "proud american" bullshit, after all, you were only born here. If more people had you attitude in that regard, the world would be much better. Being true to youself in a twisted culture is one hell of an accomplishment.

Patriotism is for sheepish losers
by Baaah-stard Monday, Jun. 23, 2003 at 10:37 AM

PATRIOTISM, n. 1) The inability to distinguish between the government and one's "country"; 2) A highly praiseworthy virtue characterized by the desire to dominate and kill; 3) A feeling of exultation experienced when contemplating heaps of charred "enemy" corpses; 4) The first, last, and perennial refuge of scoundrels.
PATRIOT, n. A dangerous tool of the powers that be. A herd member who compensates for lack of self-respect by indentifying with an abstraction. An enemy of individual freedom. A fancier of the rich, satisfying flavor of boot leather.

Gay Pride is Bullshit
by George K. Monday, Jun. 23, 2003 at 3:00 PM
dodgerambler@yahoo.com

The gay-pride movement is a farce. All the movement has served to do has alienate most of the public that could have been supportive. I do not like fanatics and I particularly enjoy tripping up wild fanatics and seeing them crash and burn. Any "rally" is a gathering of idiots who have no backbone. If you cannot stand for who you are, then get back in your closet and shut the hell up. People are sick and tired of seeing fags march down the street and hearing their slogans. For gods sake, I was in Paris on a business trip, and there were gays marching down the street, with a caged homo wearing a leather dick sheath and nothing else. Do rational people think this makes a good arguement for accepting fags as normal people into society? Any time I see a gay-awareness demonstration, there are scantily clad men and beefy women menacing bystanders with pink signs and obscene posters....disturbing the peace and creating resentment ....offending people and flaunting themselves in ways heteros dont do either....
My brother is gay. He works, has a companion, dresses well, attends functions, lives life as a gay man. He does not wear a dick sheath in a cage. People accept him and his companion. He is more likely to gain acceptance through acculturation and integration.
These "gay days" only serve to alienate and draw ire and violence.

George K, I completely agree that extreme tactics, like wearing a dick sheath in a cage, will alienate the majority.

As far as the PRIDE goes, when a culture looks down upon a group of people and discriminates against then, as our culture has and still does toward gays, what is wrong with banding together and show supportive commraderie?

And to penrose, joe and others... what about irish pride/parades and parades? its just a celebration of a culture. Same thing here.

by r queen Tuesday, Jul. 01, 2003 at 10:26 AM

Well, I just want to put out a supportive opinion for some stuff here. About the almost naked guy in a cage thing, you are missing the point, I am not someone who does over the top things like public nudity, but I definitely support it. You see, all queers don’t speak for each other, I don’t speak for all queers, I can only speak for some that I know and agree with, but many of us feel that it’s not about “fitting in” with a straight society and having you “accept” us or “learn to deal” with us, it’s about changing the whole fucking society. That might be a form of radical queer action, but it fights forms of (what I would call) radical straight actions that happen every day in america. Rape is a radical straight action, yes it is, so is anorexic advertising campaigns and diet culture. Straight society is fucked up, straight society will always push down queer society. “Straight” implies the fact that queer is different or unnatural, and until we can fuck up that mentality, we need to do more radical things. As far as I know, the message probably wasn’t that to be accepting of queer culture you need strip naked and dance in a cage, probably you need to just think once in a while. Sorry this letter is so long, I felt someone should say some positive things here. I won’t get into why the 4th of July is a crock of shit. Peace.

support rally
by stanley Tuesday, Jul. 01, 2003 at 9:30 PM

i have to say i disagree that having "pride" in anything is a bad thing. yes blind patriotism is a bad thing obviously, but comparing that to being proud of who you are is very different. if i had been oppressed because of my sexual orientation and made to feel worthless, i would welcome a movement that works to give people like me support.

it is a poor choice to believe in the entire "gay community", just like how it is a poor choice to believe in the entire "african american community" or the entire "irish community".

salvador dali said that "to bring about change, one must offend" (i'm paraphrasing), and in order to imbue a sense of awareness into american society one must "wake people up". i have no problem with people putting up offensive posters and the like because that is the means they have chosen to communicate their message. it's true that alienation could be a result of the offenses but the gay pride movement has been so silenced by society that those are the only desperate means one can cling to in order to communicate.

the use of the word "fag" in several of the posts i have read is horrific. how can someone say such a terrible thing when trying to express some form of demented solidarity with the movement? would you casually refer to people as "niggers" or "chinks"? what do you think mathew shephard's murderers were screaming at him all night long?

people have expressed their disgust with george k or whomever for saying that their brother is a "normal gay" and not an "offensive faggot" but i just want to add that if the answers to all societal/social problems are conformism, as so lucidly displayed in his brother, then society should simply become a machine that churns out "normal gays" and "normal straights" and "normal men" and "normal women". one needs to celebrate difference in order to embrace them. and as long as people believe that the gay pride movement is "offensive", "retarded", "stupid", and "worthless" then it has already failed and those fighting for their causes need either lay down and die or become a clone of the fuhrer.

Don't jump all over me, but...
by TJ, the heterosexual that does not oppress Wednesday, Jul. 02, 2003 at 10:45 PM

Whenever I feel pride over something, I get some individuals that tell me "way to go" or "right on". However, I'm also met with resistance by those who feel pride is self-serving. This is understandable. If I went around telling everyone how proud I was over something, even those who agree are eventually gonna tell me to chill. Extremism is the real culprit here, and it seems like the loudest mouths in the gay community do an injustice to your struggle. Just like the loudest heterosexual mouths that seem to only vent expletives and derogatory remarks make us look bad and perpetuate the whole thing. I am heterosexual, and I'm sorry for the words others of my community have said. I also have grieved for Matthew S. and look forward to a day when violent acts like those never happen again.
It may happen if....WE ALL SWALLOW OUR PRIDE.
Peace.

on pride and other things
by dara Thursday, Jul. 03, 2003 at 4:18 AM

i dont really know where to start. i see both sides of the argument. while pride is generally a bad thing, pride against oppresive forces is a worthwile notion. i have been to pride and i am always upset by the fact that the most "deviant" aspects of gay life are the only sides portrayed. the lawyers, the moms, the friends, and family are always missing. like all things in america, only that which excites or causing a strong reaction are shown. every pride event i have gone to has welcomed all because we realize that we are not alone. i agree with the notion that hopefully one day we will be able to swallow our pride. hopefully on this eventful day racism, sexism, classism, poverty, and other vile oppressive forces that riddle this planet will be over with. until then we can use pride as a way of being able to embrace stereotypes and understand that these stereotypes are not limiting and do not define who we are. we can be brothers, fags, lawyers, bums, black, white, mothers because we are.

as for group effort. the country was not built by one man. a war is never made by one man. the moral laws this nation creates and enforces are not upheld by the righteousness of one man. they are formation of the many, the whole. every gay person who does not closet themselves fights a battle on a daily basis. we are warriors. we fight against the norm. we fight everytime someone asks are we married? do we have kids? we struggle with what we should say to them. the fight is constant. for someone to say that we are cowards has never lived a life in a socially conservative society were their lives are always being questioned. we come out to show who we are and to go against who you think we should be. when i get called fag driving down the street i am not in a parade. when i am in a parade i am reminded that i am not alone. i support all movements that seek to end discrimination and bring balance to an unjust society.

you obviously don't know the Bible
by Amy Tuesday, Sep. 16, 2003 at 11:12 PM

Ok, you actually bothered me enough that I had to reply. Who are you to tell people how they should lead their lives? Basic principle of the bible....God is the only judge. If you say gay people will go to Hell, that means as much as me saying that you should go to Hell. Though it may be how you feel, you cannot decide who goes to Hell and who doesn't, so deal with it. Also, God loves everyone. He forgave MAry Magdelin (forgive any mistakes in spelling) who was a prostitute. Prostitution is seen as being wrong, but God forgave her. So even if being homosexual is wrong, though I don't believe it is, if someone has love and respect for God, living their life the way that makes them happy will hardly put them in a position to face Hell. I could go on and on, but I think you get the general point that I was trying to make. Don't use the Bible or religion as a way to justify a pitiful excuse for some incorrect information that you have been spoonfed for I don't know how long because you didn't have the balls enough to question it! Do you even know any gay people? I do. I have a wonderful friend who just happens to be gay and I think he is one of the nicest people I have ever known. Why do you even hate gay people anyway? Where you ever beaten to within an inch of your life by a gang of homosexuals? Most likely not. So until you get your head out of your ass and come up with a good reason for your prejudices, do us all a favor and shut up!

Let me say I do not agree with the approach John Reardon took. I prefer to simply open the Bible and read what the Word of God teaches.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I Corinthians 6:9-10

"Neither fornicators, not idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor theives, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

(See also I Timothy 2:8-15; Hebrews 13:4)

God is righteous. When we violate His word we sin - and sin is spiritually deadly (Romans 6:23).

God is merciful and He wants what is for our good in this life and eternally. So great is His love for us that He provided his Son as the remedy to save us from our sins if we will surrender to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and be faithful to Him (Romans 5:8; Mark 16:15-16; Revelation 2:10)

I Corinthians 6:9-11 - "....Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, etc.... shall inherit the Kingdom of God. And such WERE some of you: but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.(emphasis mine)"

Just like those in Corinth who WERE at one time committing these sinful acts, even the sin of homosexuality, all those who sin can also repent and come to Jesus.

Bible
by Amy Wednesday, Sep. 17, 2003 at 10:11 AM

Well, since you believe that, do you believe that Noah lived to be 500 years old and had about equally as many children? Not all things in the Bible are meant to be taken literally. Also, God did not write the Bible. It was written by men who were against the thought of homosexuality. As you used it to put emphasis on your point of view, so did they. It was intended to teach people how they should live. However, it was for that particular time period. You are basing today's society and your view of what's right and wrong on something that was written at a time where women were still treated more like property than people. The views of the past as far as what is right or wrong for a particular society cannot be the basis for current views. Women and Blacks are examples of that. It's just a matter of time until you realize that saying that homosexuality is wrong is just a foolish idea that you've been told for ages. Besides, you have some of your own repenting to do. By standing up and saying that someone who lives their life in a way that makes them happy and isn't doing a damn thing to hurt or bother anyone else is a sinner, you are hurting these people. Do you think it is easy to go against people like you? Whether you wanted to base it on the Bible or on whatever other reason, you are making it hard as hell for these people to be who they are. It's not easy to find love in this world, and its a million times harder if you're gay. Alot of gay people have to suffer and almost feel bad about who they are because of people like you. I may not be able to quote the Bible as well as you can, but I remember passages about those who are treated unfairly, those who are denied things during their life will be rewarded in Heaven.

Give it a break...
by ... Wednesday, Sep. 17, 2003 at 10:18 AM

Give it a break and think for yourself. The Bible also contains laws regarding slavery and keeping concubines, but neither of these practices are regarded as moral or condoned by your god in the modern age, so why should a hatred of homosexuals? If you're looking to tear the Bible apart, there are plenty of contradictory passages in there... Open your eyes and quit justifying your prejudices with a book that is thousands of years old. The book was written to advance some group's own agenda - just as there is no historical evidence of a King David or a city of Jericho (of the era the Bible speaks of) there is no evidence that homosexuality in and of itself will lead to an eternity of torment at the hands of a vindictive (wait, I thought he was supposed to be loving of everyone?) god. Endless Bible quotations isn't a very convincing argument, but I guess thats why church attendence is so high that every other house of worship is boarded up anymore.

The Bible says one thing; reality another. Visit reality, its a very different place from the not-so-utopian vision of the world that the Bible gives.

Word illustrates one of the huge problem associated with so-called Christianity.
All of the examples he or she cites, reference a letter written by Paul, and nothing attributed Christ himself. The majority of the New Testament is just that, letters from Paul, and most of the thoughts and opinions contained within seem out of character for the Jesus of the Gospels.

Don't forget black-bloc Jesus trashing the moneychangers.

Noah had three sons and lived to be much older than 500. The Bible was written by inspired men who wrote as God had them write. It is the inerrant Word of God and is truth throughout all the ages; yesterday, today, and tomorrow, until the end of time. The things I say are a reflection of what God has written in His Holy Word. God calls homosexuality an abomination. While I agree it is wrong to mistreat any individual, and we certainly should never hate anyone, it is not hateful to show people they are living in sin which will lead to their own destruction. It is, in fact, the ultimate act of love to tell people what God expects from them, and to point out that their behavior is not pleasing to Him. In is done in the hope they will turn away from their sin and follow Jesus.

It is my duty as a servant of God to bring His Word to a lost and dying world. Jesus stated clearly that if you follow Him, the people of the world will hate you and persecute you and say all manner of evil against you falsely for His sake. So, that you don't like what God says in His Word and that you would critize me as I strive to do God's will is not surprising to me. I am told in the scriptures that will happen to me. But your argument is not with me, it is with God. That's an argument you ultimately will not win.

So apparently you have no problems telling a gay person that they are an abomination. So, would you go up to a successful woman and tell her that she is doing wrong by God and that she should repent and become subservient to a man? If you would, God help you because you're worse off than you thought. I have no problems with anyone trying to spread God's word, but I do take great offense to when I try to spread his word of love and understanding and tolerance and have someone twist it around to make it seem like they are being persecuted by me for their beliefs. We don't live in the Dark Ages anymore. Society has changed. Contrary to your opinion, we are not a lost and dying world. There are horrible things that go on from day to day, but that is man's own fault. (I don't think God dictated plans to make WMD like he did the Commandments) I'm not saying things are perfect, but it's not meant to be. Perfection and peace are things that are meant for eternity. Trials here on Earth are merely tests by God. We are not all horrible monsters. There are plenty of good people on this Earth. You trying to make everyone a clone of your beliefs and opinions isn't going to help much. Well, maybe if you're friends with the Willard Preacher, but that's another story. Anyway, you preach judgement of others and marking them off as sinners. I say that they are just trying to do what makes them happy and I think that God will reward them for showing their courage and bravery a heck of a lot sooner than he will reward you for your "Holier than thou" attitude.

I would have no problem showing a homosexual person that the scriptures teach their SIN is an abomination to God.

A woman being successful doesn't violate any scripture.

God does not tolerate sin. Jesus clearly taught that those who teach and uphold His Word would be persecuted by the world.

The world is always "lost and dying". Broad is the way and wide is the gate that leads to destruction, and many there be that find it. The term "lost and dying" is not a reference to physical things here on earth, it is speaking of spiritual things.

I am not trying to make people a clone of my beliefs. I couldn't do that even if I tried. God expects us to follow and conform to His way. There is no other way to obtain eternal life in heaven but His way.

I don't judge people sinners. God judges people sinners. But, when God says homosexuality is a sin, for me to point that out is not me judging them. God has already judged that homosexuality to be a sin. I just reflecting what He already said.

If you believe God will reward people for continuing in things he deems as sin, then you are hoping for something that not promised.

Holier than thou? How can me simply repeating what God has stated be Holier than thou? It can't.

Once again, you argument is with God, not me.

I've read this and several other discussion on various Indymedias, but mainly this board because it my hometown. But wherever I go, it seems you left-wingers and anarchists always have to get in the last word if you are in a discussion with someone. Why is that? Does that somehow make you feel like you won if you get in the last word?

Really, I just want to know.

last "word"
by Altar Boy Wednesday, Sep. 17, 2003 at 1:51 PM

I think the desire to have the last word isn't exclusive to these pages, but rather a very common human tendency.

Speaking of off-topicand last word, how did an announcement of an action from the spring, disinegrate into recruiting for the "zombie on a stick" cult?
It was no leftist or anarchist, but some bible thumper who sought to have last word on a long past, non-issue, by posting mythical justifications for their ignorance and hatred.

last word?
by free thinker Thursday, Sep. 18, 2003 at 10:11 PM

Oh no, do I have the last word? I think that these are ongoing conversations/debates, and no one is getting the last word.
Here's MY word:
Religion and Dogma are very stupid things to follow. Here is where religion got us in the history of mankind:
-wars
-the crusades
-the dark ages
-Israel/Palestine
-9/11 (but it was also set up by the puppetmasters)
You see the puppet masters have used religion since society began to divide and conquer the people.
The issue of homosexuality is another example of this. Grow up, let people live the way they want to live (homosexuals don't hurt anyone), and stop quoting a book that is a collection of stories from many different MEN and puppetmasters who seek to control.
Follow your own heart and you will find all the truths inside. There is no need to impose your will on other people's freedom of choice and lifestyle.

What you fail to understand is that those who believe in God and believe the Bible is true have a duty to teach others and to condemn sin. The Bible commands they do so. But you view it as them imposing their will on other people's freedom of choice and lifestyle. I believe you will find that most who follow the Bible, when asked whether they will either follow God or the desires of mankind, they will choose to follow God. Essentially that means they aren't going to stop teaching what they believe to be the truth and pointing our what the Bible teaches is sin.

the bible
by free thinker Friday, Sep. 19, 2003 at 9:28 PM

I went to catholic school for 12 years, and by using logic and reasoning, I have found out that what most people fail to understand is that the bible is a book.... a collection of stories, letters, and maybe some historical anecdotes that many different men have written throughout a specific time. Jesus was just a prophet (like Buddha, and Vishnu and all the other Gods), and when he said he was the son of God, he meant that everyone has God inside ourselves. If we all follow our souls through love, then we know what is right. The only sin is failing to live in love and truth. If you "love your neighbor as yourself" then you love blacks, whites, muslims, jews, indians, women, asians, heterosexuals and homosexuals.
I have read the bible and it is a bunch of stories and directions from many different leaders to the common people. If you take them literally, then you must be a nutball. God is seen as wrathful and will kill you and the next minute God will watch over you like you are little lambs.
Don't you understand, religion is a control mechanism, if you follow your heart and do what is right, (because what is truly right for you is right for others), then you don't need to follow some edict or dogma to "save your soul"
The bible also tells you what to eat and what not to eat, how to prepare foods, how to treat women as property, and many other things that if were taken literally, we'd have some real "sins" on our hands.

NO ONE IS SINNING WHEN THEY ACT IN LOVE AND TRUTH AND HOMOSEXUALS ARE NOT SINNING!!!!
Blind faith without reason and logic is what has brought down societies from the beginning of time. It is what causes terrible things like wars, the holocaust, and the dark ages.
If you want to be someone else's gatekeeper by qouting some useless rhetoric while thinking you are helping people, then maybe you should have sent some jews to the acid showers or threw Socrates in jail for preaching the truth. If you believe Jesus was a real prophet, well remember they hung him for preaching the truth. You religious fanatics are as bad as the Romans who hung your messiah when you decide what lifestyle is a sin or not!!!!!!!!!!

I know what God said because I was there!
by Matt (That's St. Matthew to you sinners) Monday, Sep. 22, 2003 at 1:18 PM

In an effort to make those who actually care who humps whom focus their energies elsewhere on issues of actual importance to them, I have used my incredible breadth of knowledge and research ability to tell the anti-gay people that they are wrong, why they are wrong, and that it's okay that they masturbate while watching Gladiator and Spartacus.

A couple of well-known biblical passages to the anti-gay crowd:

Leviticus 18:22

Original Translation:
"V’et zachar lo tishkav mishk’vey eeshah toeyvah hee."
Common Translation:
"You shall not lie with a man as with a woman. It is an abomination.
Actual Word-for-word Translation:
"And with a male thou shalt not lie down in beds of a woman; it is an abomination."

And for you Sodom and Gomorrah types.

Isaiah 1; The entire first chapter is an utter condemnation of Judah. They are repeatedly compared with Sodom and Gomorra in their evildoing and depravity. Throughout the chapter, the Prophet lists many sins of the people: rebelling against God, lacking in knowledge, deserting the Lord, idolatry, engaging in meaningless religious ritual, being unjust and oppressive to others, being insensitive to the needs of widows and orphans, committing murder, accepting bribes, etc. There is no reference to homosexuality or to any other sexual activities at all. It is incredibly unclear whether or not the people of Sodom and Gomorrah wanted to have consentual sex with the two angels or gang rape them.
Ezekeiel 16:49-50
Jeremiah 23:14
2 Peter 6-8
These are a few others where the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah are mentioned. As you'll see, no mention of homosexuality is included.

Now, my anti-gay friends, you have no choice but to take the swastikas down from the walls, turn your robes and hoods into rags, and possibly take up bocce or badminton to maybe find a positive outlet for your sexual identity crises. If you refuse, you can continue to harp about those damned gays, tell us all how the world is becoming a moral nightmare, and continue dressing up like a woman to go visit your local Chippendale's.

Lunch hour is over. Back to work.

I AM 666
by JFFJ Monday, Sep. 22, 2003 at 3:58 PM

I am United States citizen 075174666, the number by which I am known to the governments of all nations. I am called to utterly destroy the Christian religion, the Great Whore of all the earth, the Mother of Abominations. I come bearing tokens, one in my right palm, and another in my forehead, each given to me through pain and bloodshed, that you might know that I am he.

Thus saith the spirit which is in me: Christ is the philosophy of Saul of Tarsus. Christ is the philosophy of Clement, Augustine, and Luther. Christ is the philosophy of liars, cheats, and deceivers, and it shall be cast into the pit from whence it came, that it might hurt the children of God no more.

And again, by the same spirit: Woe unto you who preach the impotent god Christ! Woe unto you whose faith is but a whitened shell! Woe unto you who traffic in flattering words, but your works are the works of darkness! Hypocrites! You wear the cross of piety to be seen of the world, and to glorify your own names; but your souls are cracked and crumbling, so you fill them with wax, and hide them beneath the patina of righteousness.

My signs are legion. I was born at Salem-Keizer, meaning Peace-Caesar, to signify that I come to rule with a gentle hand. I was born at the 45th parallel, halfway between the equator and north pole, to signify that I come to exercise balance. I was born under the sign of the archer beast Sagittarius, to signify that I come to pierce hearts with the arrows of truth.

Desire ye more signs? My full birth name means divine peace, he who ascends, conqueror. It has 18 letters: three times six. Number the 52 glyphs of the English alphabet, the lowercase and then the uppercase, and add together the numbers of my uppercase name. You will obtain the sum you expect. Here is my anagram:

BINARY AI SERVER JFFJ.

The work of the Christian religion has been the oppression of Africans, Arabs, and Indians. The work of the Christian religion has been the depraved subjection of women. The work of the Christian religion has been the unholy exercise of power over the children of God, through deception and the shedding of innocent blood. The wrath of the Almighty is kindled against these things.

Woe unto you who make your own bellies warm and fat, while the children of God go hungry and cold in the street! Hypocrites! Woe unto you who adorn yourselves in fine robes, while the children of God wear rags! Hypocrites! Woe unto you who erect large and spacious churches in the name of Christ, while the children of God dwell in hovels!

Woe unto you, doctors of corruption who heed not the words of your own scripture! Know ye not that faith without good works is dead? Hypocrites! Well did Esaias prophecy of you, saying: This people draw nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoreth with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Woe unto you! In vain do you worship, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Another wonder I give unto you. Divide my passport number by 666, and obtain my thirteenth birthday, the day of my bar mitzvah, had I been born a Jew, and Thanksgiving day in the United States. All these signs are made manifest that you might know that I am sent to do the work of One greater than myself.

Today is judgment day. So was yesterday. When nonjudgment day comes, there will finally be peace on earth.

Count 666 lunar months of four weeks from the date of my birth, and arrive at December 18, 2012. Beginning on that evening, for three nights and three days the children of God will dance and sing; then the Mayan calendar will end, and the Sun King will be reborn.

Now, seek for me diligently, and learn my name.

Wow,

Now that's what I call a great argument. I cite passages out of a book I don't agree with 90% of the time, while you stick to what you've been taught by Reverend Rush Falwell Buchanan. Truth be told, I'm every bit as gay as your arguments are valid (that means I dig on chicks, genius). If you care so much about what's morally right and wrong, advocate for human rights victims.

I Corinthians 6:9-10

"Neither fornicators, not idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor theives, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

Matt- "I have used my incredible breadth of knowledge and research ability to tell the anti-gay people that they are wrong, why they are wrong"

"Now that's what I call a great argument."

It's not an argument. God's word has already spoken. The argument is settled. Homosexuality is a sin. Your disagreement is not with me, but with God. Take it up with Him.

"while you stick to what you've been taught by Reverend Rush Falwell Buchanan"

I did not quote some "preacher", I directly quoted God's word. God's word is my teacher, not the word of some man, and certainly not the word of someone who could care less what God's word teaches, but rather "feels" they are doing what is right and "feels" like certain acts are not sinful rather than going to the source (Bible) and finding out what God says about it.

"If you care so much about what's morally right and wrong, advocate for human rights victims."

It is wrong for homosexuals to be mistreated for any reason. What they are practicing is sin, and for me not to show them in God's word where it is a sin would be an unloving act on my behalf. Why would I want someone to be eternally lost if they could read God's word and see for themselves what they need to do in order to stop sinning and be pleasing to Him?

"Enjoy a long life of intolerance."

You'll need to take that up with God. He's the one you're calling intolerant, for He's the one that said homosexuality is a sin.

Hey JFFJ, are you the guy who drank the hallucinogenic tea in Germany and whacked his peter and tongue off? You sound like it....

To a more serious note addressing the point of this thread...religion and personal sexuality are two areas where people are never going to agree. Period. They depend on personal faith and beliefs, which a person does not use facts to develop (at least they are not aware that they are doing so). If a person cannot overcome their bodily urges for their religion, then there will be inner conflict until this is resolved, but facts do not sway the person one way or another. It is their free-will and choice based on their feelings.
It's the same with the abortion debate. When does life start with the fetus? 1 week? 10 weeks? When the kid pops out? WHEN is it wrong? What does your god tell you? What does your gut tell you?
Believe what you choose, just do not legislate or demonize the choice of others.

I did not mean that anyone on this site was trying to control others through religion. What I meant was that when religion and government go hand in hand, (for instance the homosexual marriage debate) then that is control!

Because you don't believe in a particualr religion doesn't make wrong for others to use those beliefs as basis of law. Besides, there are many Constitutional and traditional reasons why marriage should only be between a man and a woman. To recognize marriage is to be only between a male and a female is not a debatable statement among reasonable people.

Maybe you don't live in the US, but we have a 60+% divorce rate, 'sanctity of marriage', indeed. Keep pretending that it matters, and that it works.

Marriage is a property agreement, except woman is the property.
There is no legitimate reason to get permission from the State or the Shamans. It's none of their business,

Same sex unions are a waste of time. More energy should be expended to grant individuals the same rights as the married.

Life is precious to us all on this journey
Inside all of us a love that gives exists
Brevity of life demands we find our inner peace
Everyone must do their part for their fellowman
Remember those who have gone on before
Always caring for others before self
Love that had no beginning and no end
Sharing truth with those around us
Always pressing onward towards tomorrow
Reflecting on the peace we strive onward
Ever inching closer to our goal
Simply wanting a better world for our children
Others may jeer and jest at our motives
Saying things to tear and break us down
Truth cannot be quiet
Upon the mountains and in the valleys we shout
Peace to all and love for all mankind
Inside us all is loves abounding message
Deliver us all to hope and peace and love.

How to Celebrate the Diversity of Sexual Orientation

Mike S. Adams October 20, 2003

Dear Student X:

Just a few minutes ago as I was leaving work, I saw a campus feminist monitoring the bulletin boards here in the social science building at the University of North Carolina at Wonderland (UNCW). This is not the first time that I have seen her removing flyers from the bulletin boards simply because she deemed them to be offensive to women.

I was not troubled by her removal of advertisements for local topless bars, but I was concerned that she was removing advertisements for fraternity parties. Since you are a member of a fraternity, I am sure that you agree that her behavior poses a grave threat to the liberties of all students, especially those in student organizations.

This incident probably reminds you of last spring when university employees removed your pro-war posters from the student union just minutes after you distributed them. This was despite the fact that the same employees left the posters of anti-war students untouched.

In response to this latest unacceptable form of thought control, I want to suggest that you print up about a thousand flyers, which read: "Property of the Feminist Thought Police." Later this week, I propose that you place 990 of these copies on all of the bulletin boards that this feminist professor has been patrolling. You can then place the remaining ten copies on her office door. This should suffice to let her know that there is someone who is aware that she is policing and suppressing free speech on this campus. Hopefully, she will act differently knowing that someone is monitoring her as she monitors others.

I also want to address the issue you raised concerning a picture of two naked men you found in dozens of gay magazines left in the student union. As you will recall, the picture showed a man standing in back of another man as he reached around and fondled his genitals. It appeared from the expression on his face, that he was also sodomizing the man standing in front of him. As I recall, you found this picture some time after you claimed that you were denied a position as a student orientation leader because of your religious objections to homosexuality.

I have since learned that this magazine, "Queer Notes", is a part of the university's diversity mission. You can even access the online version of the magazine on the Project B-Glad portion of the campus website, which is sponsored by the Office of Campus Diversity. Unfortunately, these magazines were removed before the summer orientation sessions, so a lot of parents didn't get a chance to see them.

Although you are not allowed to be a student orientation leader, you should make sure that on parents weekend everyone has a chance to properly evaluate the agenda of those who monitor and punish students for their religious beliefs. Towards that end (no pun intended), I think that you should run off 2000 copies of those two gay men engaged in anal sex. With the help of a couple of friends who share your views, you could pass them out on parents weekend.

After all, the purpose of the event is to let parents know what kind of education their kids are getting. You could even superimpose "celebrate sodomy" on the flyers. As long as you don't use the university logo everything should be fine.

After all, you're just helping them to circulate the fruits of their own agenda. Again, no pun intended. Finally, I want to address your concerns about the feminist play that the university sponsored last year, which you claimed was a celebration of pedophilia. I obtained a copy of the original play and found out that your assessment was pretty accurate. Clearly, a portion of that play celebrates a sexual act between an adult lesbian and a thirteen year-old girl. It also recounts an interview of a six-year-old girl, conducted by the author, which asks the child what her "vagina smells like." I also received the picture you sent of a poster advertisement for the play, which was paid for by the Women's Center. The poster called for all "p-----s" to unite and attend the pedophilic feminist play.

Remember that the sponsors of the play have been accused of censoring the views of their opponents, and of engaging in religious discrimination on this campus. In order to prevent such an accusation from being hurled at you, you should help them advertise their event by running off copies of their controversial ad, and by circulating even the most controversial (pedophilic) portions of the play.

By the time you're done, churches, senior citizen homes, politicians, and alumni could get a nice sampling of the campus diversity movement. It should be obvious by now that the campus thought police have been monitoring and suppressing your beliefs. Since they are not allowing you to express your ideas, you should turn your energy to the dissemination of their ideas. And since their success has largely relied upon subtlety and secrecy, you should make certain that that is no longer possible.

Above all, you must not allow them to restrict knowledge of their agenda to those over whom they exercise control and those with whom they agree. It is a sad irony that in the age of diversity we are not always able to express the truth. But that doesn't mean that we can't remind people of what is true, by showing them what is not.

Mike Adams (adams_mike@hotmail.com) is an associate professor at the University of North Carolina at Wonderland (UNCW). His first book, "Welcome to the Ivory Tower of Babel" will be published on one of his 364 un-birthdays.
