June 11-12 are National National Days of Action to Bring America Home

The Bringing America Home Campaign is a national, broad-based
initiative dedicated to the goal of ending homelessness. The Campaign is founded on the principles and action of public education, grassroots organizing and support for progressive policies and legislation. It is based on the fact that people need affordable housing, livable incomes, health care, education, and protection of their civil rights. The Bringing America Home Campaign is composed of a variety of efforts that address these causes of homelessness.

On June 11th, groups around the country are taking action to draw attention to issues facing our communities, whether it be the block granting of Section 8, Medicaid, lack of family housing, etc.

On June 12th, groups will be flooding our Congresspeople with calls of support for the Bringing America Home Act. We will urge that they cosponsor this bill, which is the most comprehensive legislation to date that addresses homelessness in America.

On the evening of Wednesday, June 11th, we here in Pittsburgh will be having a sleepout in front of City Hall. Join the Pittsburgh Organizing Group with your pillows, sleeping bags, signs, music, books, cards, games, stories, food, and fun for a big slumber party on the steps of City Hall. Let's show our city that we do NOT support their efforts to "clean up the city" by cleaning out the homeless!!!

Please email us at pog@mutualaid.org for more details or questions!

Please also stay in touch with what other groups are doing nationwide by checking http://www.bringingamericahome.org.
