by Anti-imperialism Tuesday July 22, 2003 at 02:28 PM

Lunch time support would be awesome!! I'm sure Dubya and his cohorts are going to keep their schedule a secret until the last minute. WE CAN ORGANIZE AN EXCELLENT DEMO IN 6 DAYS! - but this needs to be a major call to action. Start spreading the word and we can finalize details and start flyering later this week. Lets keep this an open forum of planning and discussion.

You need to check that noise @ the door. This is a legitimate call for unity and action.

Go to http://www.pittsburghpolice.com and see where it leads you.............. These are serious times. Pittsburgh needs to rise up now and show the current administration what it is up against.

NO TO A N.W.O.!
by kiki Tuesday July 22, 2003 at 10:14 PM

I say NO to a New World Order! I say NO to the U.S controlling the world! I say no to mind control and secret govt. plans to ruin our lives! I say NO NO NO NO to the godamn patriot act that took away our privacy, freedom of speech, and everything else! I say no to the color coded terrorist scale that is announced like the weather. "Honey-take your umbrella and gas mask today. The news said that there is a chance of rain and an orange alert--high terrorist activity likely."
DOWN WITH MID CONTROL!
DOWN WITH THE UNITED STATES OF IMPERIALISM!
Damn, I wish I could come Monday! But you quacks say you will be there and never show up anyway. And do you really think the president will be where they say he is? He won't go to the convention center if every FBI agent is snooping around the pittsburgh indymedia site to see what we are planning. Bullshit! I want my freedoms back. Who is this fucking George W??? Just a fucking puppet.

Actions speak louder.................
by Vayne Tuesday July 22, 2003 at 10:29 PM

Kiki, If you are so outraged then you should come voice your opinion.

Bitching that no-one will show is lame. If attendance is poor then do something about it. Start helping to organize, flyer, post online. tell 10 people who you know will come. It's called a struggle for a reason. Things will not change overnight. People need encouragement sometimes. People need to realize that free speech still exists. This city needs a show of unity. Let's bring it together.

It oughtn't be to hard for some clever person to determine when W. will be speaking. Surely there is some Urban League schedule out there for Monday. ". . . workshops 9 to 11:45 etc . lunch 12 to 1"

When you find out, whoever you are, post it here.

I'll be there with my sign and my anger. The point is that the public sees a protest, not W. we know he dosen't care.
What planning, beyond showing up is necessary?

http://www.nul.org/conference2003/schedule.html - here is the link for Urban League schedule. No mention of Dubya. I'm sure it will be kept classified as long as possible. Attendance is the top priority ALTHOUGH we need some new action! Read the story just posted about the LA action (ala pink slip) New chants are needed, we have to bang on drums/buckets and make some noise. Let the public know what's up. Dress up in costumes, we need street theatre, instruments, CREATIVE IDEAS. Details will be available soon.

George W. Bush is an excellent national and world leader. We should all support him. The military capabilities of the USA are quite possibly the only stabilizing force that can keep much of the world from declining into anarchy and chaos.

freedom
by Peppy-RPGH Wednesday July 23, 2003 at 04:38 PM

Anarchy = complete freedom, yes there might be chaos, but there is alot of chaos in the united states? What has GW done for you? I can tell you what he has taken away, but what has he given you? What makes him so great that he is the most hated president in history and has had the most protests against him? Yeah the usa got it right...by doing the rest of the world wrong.ex. Israel and Palestine.

I will be going on mon and so will my friends john, brandyn and kate so that is at least 4 people. Us four always protest agianst things. we always make our voices heard, and if it changes 1 person or gets 1 person to think; then it is a success.

More and more our rights are getting stripped away. I don't even have the right to hold a sign on my front street sidewalk, becuse it is deemed as a parade and I need to PAY FOR A PERMIT. So now I have to fight that injustice with the ACLU.

We will be there all day, so whenever GW pulls up in his nice limo payed for by our tax dollars, I'll be there to say hey "We don't want you here, your not our president".

Most hated by whom?
by 2 beers Wednesday July 23, 2003 at 04:58 PM

And by what measure. I know that you leftist/lefty/anarchist types are all about hate and have enough of it go around for everyone who diagrees with you or whose dancing you find less than favorable. And all of those protests? Has W. really had more protests directed at him and his policies than LBJ? I don't know about him being hated the world over either. The French have an issue with him because he pissed on their cozy relationship with the Iraqi Madman. The Germans now want to make nice. Most of the world that has recently had to live under a despotic dictator seems to like W and support him. And the Liberians are running into the streets screaming for his intervention. W. is the first President to have the courage to do exactly what was needed in a very trying and difficult situation, and to stare down his detractors as they hid behind their own political and economic agendas.

And what has he done for me....he once sent me a very nice photograph of himself, sutable for framing, with some kind words of thanks and encouragement. And that is more than any leftist/anarchist/traffic-blocking bucket-banger has doen for me.

Absolutely right - every concerned individual should also bring 4 concerned individuals. That's how things get started. I'll be there all day myself - with as many people as I can. Actually due to the shambles the current economy is in (THANKS TO GEORGE BUSH) I know many people that have some time on their hands to mobilize.

by 2 beers Wednesday July 23, 2003 at 05:56 PM

So your are some sort of recreational protester? Some people go to the movies, plays, coffee shops, but you go to all of the protests. Does it matter what is being protested? Probably not, since all of these protests are just giant whine-fests. It is like Whinapalooza. I cannot wait unitl the republican convention in new york when every freak show protester will be in the streets of the Big Apple to show America, proudly, that the incoherent dysfunctional left is little more than a haven for every political misfit in the world. You goof-offs hate W. more than you hate the despotic criminal Saddam Hussein (a renown despot and violator of human/civil/and womens rights). Your protests are nothing but hate rallies directed at anyone who is not on your side. You hate teh right. you hate the middle. You hate people who look like republicans. you hate the military. you hate for the sake of hating anything that challenges your oppressive leftist socialist dream of an anarchist world.

See you Monday.

Dear 2 beers

Where as Greenie goes to all the protests you seem to be spending to much time at the old key board.

My advice: go outside, smile at someone, let go of the old resentment. The liberals really do want what is best for YOU, because unless you are very rich you are being used as a pawn by the GOP. But most of all, lighten up, you are very annoying to read.

by 2 beers Wednesday July 23, 2003 at 06:44 PM

Of course, how could I be so blind as not to see that the liberals only want what is best for me...and of course they know what is best for me. I should abandon my menial role as a "pawn" of the republicans and fall to my knees giving myself over to the mothering and nurturing of the liberals and leftists. Of course, all of the liberal policies and anarchist rants define only good policy for all. Damn, that sounds like facsism, oppression and hate (for any alternative that requires anyone to think for themsleves). Oh, I agree, the Left is full of mothers.

I smile all the time. I spread nothing but joy and love. I am one happy son of a mother. And my happiness is enhanced by the fact that I live in an America that allows me to be the best I can be. Where, if we trash that ridiculous tax scheme that we have, I could really be better. Thanks to people like those in the Bush Administration, we can all rest comfortably knowing that our freedoms are being protected. That foreign murders will be detered from harming us and our economy. Yes, I am a happy son of a mother smiling like a Chashire kitty at all of the fools protesting who knows what (since they usually don't know what).

wha?
by madness Sunday July 27, 2003 at 10:08 PM

2 beers, trust us, he is the most hated US president in the WORLD, not just Germany and France. I just got back from the U.K. and the Spanish island of Ibiza. These were two US allies in the war remember? Well guess what, like 80 percent of Britons and 90 percent of Spaniards express a deep dislike of G.W. and this current government's policies. Tony Blair is hanging on by a thread and it is highly likely the next British government will not be in lock step with American foreign policy if Bush is still president.

Not only that but a significant portion of America now has turned against him. What do you expect when US soldiers are still dying at the rate of 2 a day now. Just in the last 24 hours FIVE have been killed. And for what? "Freedom for the Iraqi people"? come on. There are plenty of bad men in the world far scarier than Saddam was. They just don't sit on top of huge oil reserves. Wolfowitz said as much recently.

The war was a sham, the election was not an election but a bloodless coup. Most of the world realises this and the EU is sending observers to the US for the 2004 election.

Did you ever think that:

Many of yourr freedoms that soldiers supposedly are fighting for would be taken away by an act of congress that most didn't even read?

That the UN would be seen by a US president as the ENEMY and an obstacle rather than an organisation to work with and through?

Police spying on everyday US citizens as a measure of "Homeland Security"?

Scanners at airports that can see your private parts?

A plan to put a security camera and microphone on every corner in most metro areas wired into a centralised system run by Total Information Awareness?

A plan for the government to gain access everyone's name and current address and DNA under the guise of a "Vanity Stamp" program from the US Postal Service?

The right to resist a search of your home without a warrant taken away?

The right to an attorney on the choping block?

The prison industry being considered a "growth industry" and law enforcement seen as a better career than in the tech fields or basic science research?

What is at stake here isn't merely some leftest civil liberty ideals but our WAY OF LIFE. These are signs of the formation of a totalitarian rogue state but some people can not see it because they are too close to see the whole picture. If you go abroad and return to this supposedly, "free" country you realise you aren't as free as they always feel the need to tell you that you are. True democracies do not need to market their freedom. It is self evident in the way people live, the public discourse and the debate within Parliament.

If the same assualt on the 2nd amendment was taking place as the one on the 1st then all hell would break loose, especially if it was under a Democratic president.

People are starting to wake up and maybe if you put the beers down you will too.

It's Madness I Tell YOU !!!
by 2 beers Monday July 28, 2003 at 07:20 AM

But isn't George Bush the ONLY US President in the WORLD?

The UN is an enemy. it is a useless debating society where dictators and despots are permitted to control or impede the agenda.

If a scanner can see my private parts, then I consider that just one more little joy that I can bring to the world when I travel.

So Iraq sits on top of huge oil reserves? Now that the US is there we can create a western stle democracy and the Iraqi people can now enjoy a much stroger economy and a taste of freedom. And of course, the side benefit of not having OPEC control world oil prices like they have is really nice. And there is also that thing about no more money to Hamas which has already lead to a decrease in violence in Isreal.

George W is the greatest world leader in modern history.

That's right 2 beers....

"The UN is the enemy"

"Useless debating society"

"Who cares about the special relationship. We'll go it alone, USA USA USA against the WORLD"

"Who cares that my job is being outsourced to foreign countries, at least those Iraqis are FREE"

"At least OPEC doesn't have control of that oil now, I will gladly still pay $2 a gallon to Cheney and Co."

"Who cares that they are still locking more people up even though crime is going down and they are planning for even more prisions. Who cares that the US locks up more people per capita than communist China or the former Soviet Union! Who cares that most of those are imprisioned due to non-violent drug offenses. Who cares if other countries, like the Netherlands, Britain, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Canada all have decriminalised cannabis. THIS IS AMERICA, WE ARE DIFFERENT! It's all about the RULE OF LAW. "

"Here, government, spy on me! Watch what I read, where I go, who I associate with, how much money i have and where I spend it. THAT's FREEDOM. oh and HERE is a sample of my DNA too so you know that I'm not a terrorist. Small price to pay for FREEDOM!"
