Bike movies and a potluck this Sunday, to welcome Bike-Aid riders to town.
Hey [yinz], come welcome the bike-aid people to town this sunday. they are a global exchange project (globalexchange.org) that bike across the country raising money for non-profits and raising awareness as they meet with different community groups, learning of thier struggles along the way.
we will be showing some bike related movies: Times Up! (www.times-up.org) best of NYC bicycle actions, Bike, the House by etta cetera, and How to turn a bike into a record player by mark dixon.
Also, we will have a representative from a community group near connelsville that will speak about their struggle against the coal barons of western Pa that are trying and succeeding in mining peoples property, destroying homes and businesses along the way.
the event is free, at project 1877 on 4805 Penn Ave at 8pm on sunday august 10th. we ask that you bring some food for a potluck, cause the bike aid people are coming from wheeling, wv that day and will be hungry, so please show some pittsburgh hospitality....thanks [yinz].
