OCTOBER 18th RESOLUTION

Where: New Castle, PA Kennedy Square

When: 2 PM

How: Take 18 to New Castle and you’ll run into it

Why…

Whereas…we demand the immediate repeal of the PATRIOT Act and other measures of repression and the full restoration of our civil liberties, as well as an end to other proposed legislation such as the VICTORY Act

Whereas…we demand an end to astronomical military spending and full restoration of social services that continue to disappear due to reckless deficit spending that has cost thousands of jobs and has put us billions of dollars in debt. We also want an end to unfair trade policies that cost our nation thousands of jobs and sink poor countries further into poverty

Whereas…we demand an end to the assault by the Bush administration on the environment as shown in their desire to destroy the ANWR for oil drilling and exploration. Implementing alternative energy sources must be done now to avoid the catastrophic consequences of our planet’s ruin

Whereas…we demand an end to the illegal war in Iraq that continues to cause casualties among our troops and Iraqis, further destabilizing the Middle East. Furthermore, we demand an exit strategy by the Bush administration to bring our troops home as soon as possible and work towards democratic stability in Iraq

Whereas…we demand an end to the harassment and detention of our Muslim brothers and sisters IMMEDIATELY and full restoration of their rights as guaranteed to all of us in the U.S. Constitution. We also want an end to the expensive failure called the War on Drugs that devastates our black communities and does nothing to reduce drug use

Whereas…we demand an end to corporate welfare and tax cuts that heavily favor the rich while our middle class crumbles and the poor sink deeper into poverty. We also want an end to corporate-influenced foreign policies that fuel our addiction to oil that keeps us allied with terrorist-financing Saudi Arabia
