MAGLEV? Its not just Mass Transit Anymore

Forget high speed mass transit for men in suits. The real profits are in war!

For some time now we have been hearing about plans by MAGLEV Incorporated to build a domonstration high speed transit link using their MAGLEV technology here in Southwest PA. This initial project would connect Pittsburgh International Airport to Downtown then to Greensburg with an intermediate stop in Monroeville. Prohibiting this project has been the very large cost involved. Even with federal subsidies the local match required is too great.

Well, not to worry because a more important use for this MAGLEV Inc. technology has been found. Seems that MAGLEV Inc. will now be involved under contract with the U.S. Navy in the building of high tech war ships. Right in McKeesport, MAGLEV Inc. will be using its "advanced manufacturing" to help construct high tech war ships.

So, its from moving people to killing people. Hey, but it is good economic development for poor old Southwest PA and it is good old fashioned war profiteering.
