Open invitation for involvement in planning and development meeting for March 20th day of events
The World STILL Says No to War
On March 20th, 2004, the City of Pittsburgh will hold a regional convergence in participation with massive global actions, protesting the 1 year anniversary of the War in Iraq.
The first planning meeting will take place on Sunday, January 18th at 4:00 PM in the Thomas Merton Center (5125 Penn Avenue, Garfield). Nothing has been decided upon, other then the fact that many people are interested in doing something on March 20th. This meeting will be for any group or individual that wants to be involved. By the end of the meeting the general logistics of the rally and march will be decided upon, while themes and committees will begin to be set up. This meeting will involve open discussion as it pertains to the goals, themes, and statements which are hoped to be made during the rally. Everyone who is involved in these initial phases has expressed their optimism that this day of action can become something special.
The purpose of the meeting and this call for involvement is to ensure that every aspect of the rally is as inclusive as possible. Please either come to the meeting yourself, or send a member of your organization so that this day represents the thoughts of those involved, autonomously and collectively.
