Beelen Raid related to convergence
by doomburger Friday, Mar. 19, 2004 at 7:45 PM

more on raid in the hill

A little after 10 tonight over ten police cars (Exact number will be established when we review the video tape)including several undercover cars and 4 k-9's surrounded "the end" house on beelen st. 4 residents were detained and questioned about the march 20th convergence. The police say they were there becAUSE they thought the residents were building bombs. The bombs were in fact water bottles being prepared by some street medics for tommorrows convergence.

neighbors and members of Food not Bombs, who were getting food prep for the peace picnic underway, attempted to observe the raid. The police blocked beelen and wouldnt let anyone observe. Saying it was for "officers safety."

police announced upon entering the house that they had no warrant but were there on "extingint cause"???

they told us that they would see us tommorrow.

they removed door locks and scoured the buidings with police dogs. They scared the pet chickens but the chickens are all right.

it has become normal police procedure to increase patrols and question anyone on beelen street when there are anti war actions planned
tonights events however mark a new level of repression and insanity by pittsburgh finest- bothering anti povery activists for what reason? punks in the hill district is just too incomprehensible for the man

they have thought that we were drug addicts, drug dealers, a satanic cult, and now terrorists. Its amazing how much listening to bad music and having weird hair can piss off pigs.

hasta la victoria
