Members of SEIU's Justice for Janitors campaign occupy Centre City Tower

This morning at 8am, about 130 people stormed the Centre City Tower lobby to protest the firing of nine janitors last December. About 37 people didn’t disperse when the police arrived and were taken away in plastic handcuffs to the jail.
Harriet Bryant (one of the fired janitors), and Gabe Morgan (organizer for the Service Employees International Union), have been on a hunger strike this week to protest the firings. The week’s events have included banner drops, a vigil and a press conference with tenants of the building speaking out. Tomorrow, Friday at 9:30am at Centre City Towers (Smithfield and Seventh Ave.) the Stations of the Cross will make a stop at the tent where the hunger strikers are camped out.

We need to protest the unions. We need to gather all the steel workers and other people who have lost their jobs over the years because of the unions chasing companies away.
It's the unions that keep the Mexicans employed and us unemployed.

assasinations on local individuals, to have the guts to sign with their real names. the feds and/or the local authorities ain't going to come hunt you down for attacking one of our own.
A Job

Yes, job skills that are in need. What kind of retarded response is that? These people spend a full days work doing their job, and even through the job is a needed function, they shouldn't get paid a worthwhile salary while not obtaining basic human rewards that everyone else receives for working the exact amount of hours everyday?
Capitalistic falicitical retardation. What other jobs do you suggest? Perhaps taking a job with the police, in which you just cruise around and arrest people who are trying to grab a larger piece of the pie from the fat pigs at the trough?
You people are slowing down the general progress of the human race. Stop acting stupid with you pro-establishment comments, meatheads.

How could you say that about elk. I have know him for a while, and I will tell you he is not presidental materal. The nice thing about him, that makes him good for campaigning, is he is a monkey. He can be easily persuaded to do anything. This makes him a powerful tool to be used in raising awareness in a cause. Look he is fighting for a cause that has no relevance to him or anyone around him. He is there because it is a political battle between something that a group of people want and another group of don't want.
As for the class clown title I disagree with the title. By far Elk is not a clown the title should say somethhing about the disgrace he brings to Woodlands Hills. He should not disobey the law he should leave the protest site and protest some where else. Raising more awareness to this topic. He is not protesting he is causing trouble.
It doesn't matter if some one believes in a cause. What matters is if they are fighting for it.

Unions are a double edge sword. They are good because they help workers get fair wages. yet in most cases they force businesses to pay the workers to much money. Or in some other cases the milk money out of the workers. a great example is giant eagle. they start people at minium wage and on top of that they take union dues out of the pay checkes. this is only one example. I worked at a non-union shop and save. started at $6.25/hr. Unions a good thing?
