Protest. Boycott. Fight back against an American traitor.
From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
Oliver North, the Vietnam War veteran who was a presidential adviser and key figure in the Iran-Contra scandal and hearings, will be the guest speaker at St. Barnabas' Founder's Day Celebration April 22 at 6pm.
The annual fund-raiser for the charitable foundation, which includes a $200-a-plate dinner and a silent auction of a wide variety of luxury items and sports memorabilia, will take place at the Omni William Penn Hotel, Downtown, beginning at 6 p.m.
North, who most recently served as an embedded reporter in Iraq for the Fox News network, also will become the 25th recipient of St. Barnabas Charitable Foundation's Hance Award. The award is named for Brother Gouverneur Provoost Hance (1871-1954), who founded St. Barnabas as a convalescent home for incurably ill men and boys who could not afford their care. The home is now a health system including a variety of living arrangements and complete health care for seniors.
The Hance Award is presented to a person of national acclaim who the foundation decides exemplifies Hance's Christian ideals and "who has made a significant impact upon the lives of Americans."
North was a member of President Reagan's National Security Council and testified during the Iran-Contra hearings. He was convicted on three felony counts but the convictions were reversed on appeal because a court ruled he had been granted immunity in exchange for his agreement to testify to Congress.
He was scheduled to receive the Hance Award last April, but his assignment in Iraq prevented it. Alexander Haig, an adviser to President Nixon, was honored in his place.
Other recipients of the Hance Award have included former first lady Barbara Bush and the late Fred Rogers.
The convalescent home has grown into a large health care system for senior citizens with campuses in Richland and Valencia, Butler County. It serves approximately 700 inpatients and residents and 40,000 outpatients and recipients of home care visits. The living facilities range from independent living to skilled nursing care

I am trying to organize a protest of the event, and a boycott/letter writing campaign against St. Barnabas in response to this attrocity.
I've never organized anything before so if I could get some help from someone with more experiance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Once again, per capitalist media, Ollie cancels two years in a row.

You people protest just to gain self-actualization. Ollie did something with his life that means something to the world. You never will do anything beyond the city limits, it seems. So the man is supposed to speak at a benefit dinner for a good cause...so what? St. Barnabas has chosen a figure who will draw people in from a demographic that actually HAS money, not a crowd of people that squat in houses and raise sickly food in hardscrabble desolate dirt plots in the city.
This is another example of people that feel the need to protest from some built in "protest gland" randomly firing, and picking such a stupid issue to organize around, that A) there will be no effect, or negative effect to whatever they think their cause may be and B) they fail to bolster a worthy cause.
Jerkoffs.
Huh???

Sure. Selling out your country to Iran is "doing something with your life". God save us all to hear what your definition of "being a huge success" is.
And FYI, I'm not homeless, i have a job, pay my bills, shower, shit, and shave just as trim and proper as the next guy.
Fuckwad.
